Chapter Three

From Marissa's Kitchen

Hey y'all, I'm Marissa. Most mornings you'll find me wrapped in a quilt with a good book and a too-big cup of coffee while my sourdough starter bubbles away on the counter.

Every loaf is naturally leavened, cold-fermented for a slow 36 hours, and baked in small batches in my home kitchen. Nothing fancy — just flour, water, salt, time, and a whole lot of love.

Kitchen Notes

How do I keep my loaf fresh?

Store it cut-side down on a board, or in a paper or cloth bag, for 2–3 days. Plastic softens that good crust. For longer, slice it and freeze — toast straight from the freezer.

What if I forget to pay on Venmo?

No worries — your order page link has the Venmo button any time. Loaves that aren't paid for before bake day may be released to the next person on the list.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Of course. Just text Marissa before the order cutoff (Wednesday, September 30 at 9:00 pm) and she'll sort it out.

Is sourdough easier to digest?

Many folks find it is! The long, slow fermentation breaks down some of the starches and gluten. It's still wheat, though — it's not safe for celiac or wheat allergies.
